E-Z-GO Personal Utility Vehicles Equipped with New Kawasaki Gas Engine
ST Lineup Features Enhanced Power, Efficiency and Reliability with Lower Noise and Emissions (AUGUSTA, GA) — E-Z-GO, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company and the world’s leading manufacturer of golf cars and utility vehicles, today announced that its ST personal utility vehicles are now equipped with a Kawasaki® gas engine delivering superior power, efficiency and reliability to tackle a range of outdoor, leisure and work-related activities.
The 13-horsepower, 401-cc Kawasaki engine is offered on E-Z-GO®’s ST Sport, ST Sport II, ST Sport 2+2, ST Custom, ST Express and ST 400. The single-cylinder engine runs at low RPM, creating less noise and wear while extending the motor’s lifespan. It’s also compliant with federal emissions standards and meets or exceeds those set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
Other features and benefits of E-Z-GO’s Kawasaki-equipped ST vehicles include:
- Outstanding fuel efficiency and operational range
- Easy to maintain and service due to the engine’s simplicity and placement
- Excellent acceleration, power, hill-climbing and cold-starting ability
- Cyclonic air filter removes moisture and large dust particles, extending engine life
- 16-MPH top speed
“The new engine is a true enhancement to E-Z-GO’s personal utility lineup,” says Kevin P. Holleran, president of E-Z-GO. “Our ST vehicles now rank at the top of the market in the qualities most important to consumers - power, reliability, fuel economy and environmental friendliness. We’re excited to offer these re-powered STs to outdoors enthusiasts, landowners and others who count on E-Z-GO to handle rough terrain and tough jobs.”
Gas versions of E-Z-GO’s MPT 800 and MPT 1200 turf maintenance vehicles and its Shuttle 2, Shuttle 4, Shuttle 6 and Shuttle 2+2 personnel carriers, as well as gas-powered models of the new RXV and Freedom RXV golf cars, are also driven by the new Kawasaki engine.
The ST 400 is new to the E-Z-GO lineup, replacing the ST 350, while the ST Sport 2+2 is also available in an electric model. The Kawasaki-powered STs feature a corrosion-resistant chassis, forward-facing seating for as many as four passengers, payloads up to 800 pounds and an array of available options and accessories. Hunters, rural homeowners, residents of planned neighborhoods, gated and retirement communities and farmers are among those using E-Z-GO’s ST vehicles for work and leisure activities.
