E-Z-GO Introduces PowerWise™ QE 36-volt High Frequency Charger

Lighter and Quieter Than Other Models; Delivers Substantial Time and Cost Savings

(AUGUSTA, GA) — E-Z-GO, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company and the world’s leading manufacturer of golf cars and utility vehicles, today introduces its PowerWise™ QE 36-volt High Frequency Charger, a lightweight model that significantly reduces charging time and energy costs while helping courses generate added revenue.

A breakthrough in charger technology and electric car battery management, the PowerWise™ QE will be officially unveiled at the 2007 PGA Merchandise Show, January 25-27 in Orlando (booth 3735). The new charger features single-unit, solid-state design and LED operation indicator, weighs a mere nine pounds, and reduces charging time by 15 percent or more.

The PowerWise™ QE helps courses boost the bottom line through enhanced efficiency. Decreased charging time equates to added revenue through shortened turnaround times for golf car fleets. Lower operating costs allow courses to increase fleet sizes, producing incremental rounds and income. And the PowerWiseTM QE can deliver energy savings of up to 30 percent.

Other PowerWise™ QE features and benefits:

  • 60 percent smaller and 75 percent lighter than other chargers
  • Whisper quiet operation (eliminates “charge hum”)
  • Simple LED charge status indicator
  • Self-diagnostic capability quickly troubleshoots source of any charging issues
  • Maintenance charge maintains peak condition during winter and long-term storage
  • Enclosed case protects internal components from harsh elements
  • Eliminates damaging overcharging

The PowerWise™ QE is standard equipment with all new E-Z-GO 36-volt electric vehicles and is compatible with any 36-volt electric model, including the TXT fleet golf car, Freedom personal golf car, ST Sport 2+2, Shuttle 2 and 2+2E, Industrial 800E and 875E, MPT 800E and Clays Car. The charger fits earlier 36-volt mounting.

“We are excited to introduce the PowerWise QE, a vital component for any course looking to reduce operating costs,” said E-Z-GO President John L. Garrison. “The PowerWise QE marks a substantial step forward in charger efficiency and power while continuing E-Z-GO’s proud  tradition of technological innovation.”
